Project Description

Over the course of 10 weeks at Winnipeg’s École Belmont, 2 classes of brilliant students, a couple dedicated teachers and I created a life sized diorama that was representative of their neighbourhood. We included a convenience store, a telephone booth, a fire hydrant, post office box, a bus stop and lots of weird birds and more. The project consisted of a combination of painting, drawing, sculpture and building that entailed weeks of  drawing, group discussions, neighbourhood walks and collaboration by all.

Created during the Fall of 2018 through the generous support of a Manitoba Arts Council Arts Smarts Grant.
